Suspects Charged in connection with Drug Operation

The suspects arrested in yesterday�s police operation have been formally charged in Longueil court.

Burt Montour (51) and Sophia Dupont (46) of Kahnaw�:ke have been charged with several drug and firearm related offences including, drug trafficking, possession for the purposes of trafficking a substance, production of cannabis, possession of a firearm(s), unsafe storage of a firearm(s), unsafe storage of a restricted weapon, unlawful possession of firearms and possession of a prohibited device(s).

The charges stem from an operation and search warrant executed yesterday at the residence of Burt Montour, where police seized more than 150 marijuana plants, grow-op equipment, drug paraphernalia, as well as two firearms with high capacity magazines.

Ms. Dupont is expected to be released on bail today. Mr. Montour remains in custody at this time.
