Tiower�:ton Cell Tower Survey

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is inviting community members from Kahnaw�:ke and Kanehsat�:ke to complete a survey to gauge opinions on the possible installation of a cellular tower on the Tiower�:ton Territory.

The Tiower�:ton Committee is exploring the idea of having a tower installed along a boundary line to improve communications in the event of an emergency. It is believed that cell phone access would be beneficial to both Caretakers and Community Members.

Chief & Council requested that some follow up be conducted to determine community interest in this initiative.

The survey consists of seven questions and can be completed online or in person in a matter of minutes. The survey will be available online until Sunday, September 6th at midnight. Paper surveys will be available at the Lands Unit office, the Caretaker�s Cabin in Tiower�:ton and at the Mohawk Council of Kanehsat�:ke reception. A Kiosk at the Kahnawake Services Complex will also take place at a date to be determined.
