Rainfall warning for weekend

The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke would like to advise the community that mild and rainy weather conditions are expected this weekend.

Flood-like conditions are possible due to the warm weather melting snow, in addition to the significant amount of rainfall expected on Sunday, January 10th.

Homeowners are strongly advised to monitor daily weather reports and ensure they are prepared for the large amounts of water by:

-    ensuring home sump pumps are operating properly;
-    ensuring home rain gutters are clear of debris; and
-    avoiding driving during the extreme weather conditions;

Immediately following the warm conditions, high winds and the possibility of heavy snow is expected.
