The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that a special presentation and meeting to launch  the Vulnerable Persons Project will take place in Kahnaw�:ke today. The Grand Chief and several Council Chiefs are expected to attend the all-day session.

Federal and provincial inquiries examining ways to protect Indigenous women, children and other vulnerable persons are underway but many feel that any solutions recommended or implemented should be Indigenous-led. 

�We were very pleased and honored to be approached by the proponents of this project,� said Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton. �Issues such as that of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women need to be addressed. Forrest Green and its partners recognize that we need to be on the ground floor for solutions, and that some of these potential solutions include increasing and improving the flow of information through the use of technology.�
