Please DO NOT Place Organics in Garbage Collection

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnaw:ke would like to remind the community that organic material DOES NOT belong in the household garbage collection.

The Kahnaw:ke Community Composting service is the collection of all organics including:

  • Pumpkins
  • Cornstalks
  • Hay/Straw Bales
  • Leaves (must be in clear, orange or paper bags)

Please have all organics curbside by 7am on the same day as your recycling collection.

Kahnaw:ke Community Organics Collection happens every week and is an effective way for your household to help fight against Climate Change and for a sustainable future.

If you have any other questions regarding recycling, please contact the Waste Management Department at 450-632-4321 or visit Facebook @recyclinginkahnawake.
