The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to offer condolences to the family and friends of the late Kanawakaiente Howard Deer, who passed away last week at the age of 91.

He was well-known for his volunteer work and musical prowess, often performing in the Kanien’kéha language until very recently.

He was elected to serve three terms as a councilor on the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke from 1962 to 1968 and was one of the last remaining Council members from that era.

At his request there was no funeral service.
