The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to inform the community of the results of last evening’s fourth meeting of the Community Decision Making Process Second Hearing for proposed amendments to the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law.

Eight of the ten remaining Sections of the draft were passed. The recap is as follows:

The final two Sections (#15, Suspension of Entitlements and #16, Revocation of Entitlements) will be on the agenda for the next Hearing, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 29 Onerahtohkó:wa/May 2018 at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium, from 6 to 8:30pm. Copies of the Draft Law and Records of Discussion for previous meetings are available for review at the KLCC website www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
