Dates Announced for By-Election

The Office of the Electoral Officer (EO) is pleased to announce several important dates for the 2019 Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke By-Election.
- Nomination Day – Saturday, February 9, 10am to noon at the Kahnawà:ke Services Complex (those who intend to run should pre-verify their eligibility with the Membership Department)
- Special Advanced Poll – Saturday, February 16, 10am to noon at the Golden Age Club (Letters of intent should be submitted to the EO by Monday, February 11 at noon)
- Meet the Candidates Night – Wednesday, February 20, beginning at 7pm at the Golden Age Club
- Election Day – Saturday, February 23; Polls open 9am to 6 pm at Karonhianónhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienstáhkhwa School
The Electoral Officer requests that each Nominee, Nominator, and Seconder sign all documents as a trio to avoid unnecessary delay, confusion or complication. Band Cards and other I.D. on person may assist in expedited registration completion.
