The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to advise the community that Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton and Ietsénhaienhs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer are attending the Northern Tribal Border Alliance Summit (NTBA) being held in Seneca Nation Territory (Niagara Falls, New York) today (Wednesday) and tomorrow.

Agenda items include a Discussion of Priorities for Crossing into the U.S. from Canada; a Meeting with U.S. Administration and/or Elected Officials; a Discussion of Priorities for Crossing into Canada from the U.S; a Meeting with Canadian Officials to Discuss the Implementation of the Minister Special Report; and a Discussion on Next Steps.

This meeting, which is the 3rd Annual NTBA Summit, is intended to continue strategic discussions on U.S./Canada priority issues that can then be used as a foundation for collective and ‘Nation/ community-specific’ advocacy efforts. Speakers will include Indigenous leaders, and federal representatives from both sides of the border.
