The Public Safety Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to ensure that community members are prepared as a Rainfall Warning has been issued by Environment Canada for our region beginning this evening, Wednesday, October 16th - possibly lasting until tomorrow evening, Thursday, October 17.

Nearly 50 millimetres of rain, heavy at times, is expected to fall.

Homeowners are strongly urged to check that their sump pumps are functioning properly. Please note that no local organization pumps basements due to flooding. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to be prepared.

Do not approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
