The Kahnawake Fire Brigade (KFB) wishes to inform the community that they will be holding a Giveaway Event on Wednesday, June 7th, from 9am to 3pm or while supplies last.
KFB members will be located on the lawn in front of the Fire Hall on the Old Malone Highway to provide free Fire Extinguishers, Smoke Alarms, and Carbon Monoxide Detectors to Kahnawa′kehró:non. One item of each per household, please.
The KFB advises residents to install smoke alarms on every level of the home, inside bedrooms, and outside sleeping areas, and test them every month. If they′re not working, change the batteries. Also, talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year.
