MCK Responds to LE DEVOIR article: Montréal, territoire mohawk?

a letter has been sent to le Devoir newspaper to address/correct historical inaccuracies and untruths that continue to cloud the truth in the matter of the so-called ‘St. Lawrence Iroquois.’ Certain influential scholars continue to hypothesize that the St. Lawrence Iroquois lived in this area at the time of contact but are somehow not related to ‘today’s’ Iroquois who continue to live here.

MCK Responds to La Presse articles: Territoire Mohawk Non CÈDÈ?

The MCK has responded to a series of Opinion articles that appeared in the La Presse newspaper recently, entitled, "TERRITOIRE MOHAWK NON CÉDÉ?" The articles question the historic presence of Mohawks on the Island of Montreal and the City's position, recently recognizing the Island of Montreal as unceded Mohawk Territory.
