Trees cut for bike & walking path

06/02/2010

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the Community that the purpose for the trees being cut on Route 207 is part of the rehabilitation works taking place in the area.

In order to provide a safe zone for pedestrians, a new bike and walking path will be constructed up to the Route 207 overpass. The trees are being removed to allow for the path to be installed. The new path will be 10 feet wide and located about five feet west of the new road which will act as a buffer zone. New trees will be planted to replenish those cut down.
