Dishwasher recall: possible fire hazard

The Community Protection Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community about a recall of certain dishwashers manufactured by the Maytag Corporation. Consumers should stop using the products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Kahnawa’kehró:non may have purchased these units at area retailers such as Home Depot. Affected models were sold under the Maytag, Performa by Maytag Jenn-Air, Amana, Admiral, Crosley, and Magic Chef brand names. An electrical failure in the dishwasher's heating element can pose a serious fire hazard.
