Three Chiefs to attend National Research Directors meeting

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform the community that Chiefs Mike Bush and Martin Leborgne will be attending the National Research Directors meetings taking place in Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15-16 Ohiar�:ha/June.

They will be participating through the Iroquois Caucus.

Among the discussions and workshops: the Specific Claims Tribunal of Canada; specific claim-related First Nation funding requirements; and changes to the Indian Land Registry System.

The National Research Directorate was created by two Assembly of First Nations departments, the Research and Negotiations Funding Unit and the Claims Research Unit, to maintain effective and efficient specific claim research funding.
