Community Meeting notes available to public

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform Kahnawa’kehró:non that comments and suggestions from participants at the Spring Community Meeting are now available for viewing at www.kahnawake.com.

Over 100 community members attended the meeting on 25 Onerahtohkó:wa/May to discuss issues relating to Membership. The comments/suggestions are the actual clipboard notes as recorded by the three facilitators.

The meeting utilized a modified version of the Community Decision Making Process, which resulted in significantly greater participation.

The Summer Community Meeting is scheduled for 17 Seskéha/August. Hearings for possible amendments to the Kahnawá:ke Membership Law are scheduled for the Fall.
