Mercier Bridge: Closures over next three weekends

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated and the Ministère des Transports du Québec will completely close the Kahnawà:ke-bound lanes of the Mercier Bridge to traffic on July 16-19, July 23-26, and August 6-9.

Traffic will be re-directed to one lane in each direction on the Montreal-bound side of the bridge (see map below) starting Friday at 11:59pm until Monday at 5am for all three weekends.

These closures will allow for important repairs to be made to the deck, as well as the reinforcement of the steel structure. The flow of traffic will be very slow during these three weekends and motorists are encouraged to avoid using the Mercier Bridge during these periods.
