Reminder: Mercier Bridge weekend closures
07/29/2010
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to remind all Kahnawa’kehró:non that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated and the Ministère des Transports du Québec will completely close the Kahnawà:ke-bound lanes of the Mercier Bridge to traffic from Friday, July 30th at 10pm to Monday, August 2nd at 5am. Traffic will be re-directed to one lane in each direction on the Montreal-bound side of the bridge until this Monday at 10am. The Airlie entrance ramp will also be closed during the work periods. These closures will allow for important repairs to be made to the deck, as well as the reinforcement of the steel structure. The flow of traffic will be very slow during these two weekends and motorists are encouraged to avoid using the Mercier Bridge during these periods. Please note that one lane on the Montreal-bound side of the bridge will also be closed from 6:30pm on Monday, August 2nd until 5am on Tuesday, August 3rd. This closure is required to complete the preventive repair work on the concrete slab done on July 26th. For more information or to follow the work progress, please visit www.mercierbridge.ca.
