Lottery update
08/12/2010
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke announced today that the proponents of a proposed Kahnawà:ke-based lottery and representatives for the MCK have come to an Agreement in Principle to continue to move forward on the proposal. Meetings are continuing to finalize details. Upon completion, the proposal will be formally presented before Chief & Council. In the meantime, development of regulations is continuing. The proposal is a joint public/private partnership between the MCK, the first-ever of its kind in this community. The private group is comprised of Bobby Delaronde, Donnie Thomas and Peter Paul. “A project like this would be impossible for the community to do on its own,” said Portfolio Chief John Dee Delormier. “The private/public partnership is a creative way of exploring this extremely interesting proposition.”
