MCK approves emergency funds for Kariwanoron

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke announced that it has approved a donation of $15,000 to the Kariwanoron Mohawk Immersion Program.

The school has been suffering from financial problems. Today’s announcement will help address an immediate shortfall.

The one-time donation was approved yesterday at a meeting of the Finance, Administration and Operations Committee, made up of three Chiefs who oversee donations, among other things. The donation was in response to a request for assistance by the school’s administration.
