Mercier Bridge: new traffic configuration announced

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke wishes to inform road users that the Ministčre de Transport du Quebec (MTQ) has devised a new traffic configuration for the Mercier Bridge in order to address issues of access to Montreal and the south shore during off-peak hours.

Beginning on Monday, June 27th the following traffic configuration schedule will be put in place until further notice:

•    Weekdays
o    5am to 9am - two lanes to Montreal-bound.
o    9:45am to 2:15pm - one lane each direction.
o    3pm to 7pm - two lanes to Kahnawą:ke-bound.
o    7:45pm to 4:15am - one lane each direction.

•    Weekends & Holidays
o     One lane each direction

Please note, during direction changes both available lanes will be completely closed for reconfiguration. Also, the ban on heavy vehicles is lifted and trucks will now be permitted to travel Kahnawą:ke-bound on the bridge.
