Upcoming works for East End Water Looping
07/22/2011
The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non of upcoming works for the East End Water Looping Project on Route 132.
Following the clearing of trees last week along the north side of the highway between Glen Delaronde Garage and Kahnawà:ke Survival School (KSS), Capital crews will now proceed with the next phases, which include:
• Monday, July 25th - Install a water valve at the KSS entrance. • Tuesday, July 26th - Remove the topsoil from the work area, which will be returned after the work is completed (approximately three days’ work). • Monday, August 15th - Install nine thousand feet of twelve inch water main. This work is expected to last until December.
Proper road signalization will be installed to warn of the construction limits.
The new waterline is necessary to ensure adequate fire protection for the Survival School and will also act as a secondary water supply to the Mohawk Trail / Lot 106 area and infrastructure for future economic development.
