Chief Peggy Mayo-Standup off on medical leave

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Chief Peggy Mayo-Standup is on medical leave for an indefinite period.
She is undergoing surgery on her knee tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Once completed there will be a period of convalescence and rehabilitation. No firm date has been announced for her return. Her portfolio responsibilities (Tobacco, Community Decision Making Process, Seigneury of Sault St. Louis, Social Assistance, Onkwata’karitáhtshera and the Finance, Administration & Operations Committee) will be passed on to other chiefs on those files, while Chief John Dee Delormier has agreed to step in as the MCK representative on the Alcoholic Beverages Control Board in her place.
The MCK wishes her a speedy and successful recovery.
