Mercier Bridge: new traffic configuration

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke has been informed by the Ministère des Transports du Quebec (MTQ) that a new traffic configuration has been implemented on the Mercier Bridge, beginning today (Tuesday).

The re-opening of one lane on the Kahnawà:ke bound span has allowed for the following schedule:

•    Two Montreal bound lanes and one Kahnawà:ke bound lane
          o    Monday to Friday from 5am until 11:30am

•    Two Kahnawà:ke bound lanes and one Montreal bound lane
          o    Monday to Wednesday from 12:30pm until 8pm
          o    Thursday and Friday from 12:30pm until 10 pm

•    One lane in each direction
          o    Monday to Wednesday from 9pm until 4am
          o    Thursday and Friday from 11pm until 4am
          o    Weekends and holidays

Please note that traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during lane reconfigurations.

The re-opening of this additional lane also allows for heavy vehicles to use the Kahnawà:ke bound span. The MTQ expects that the entire Kahnawà:ke bound span will be accessible in December.
