Chief Sky-Deer receives Tobacco Portfolio

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer has been appointed as the Tobacco portfolio chief. The appointment was made official at the Council meeting of Monday, 3 Kenténha/October.

Chief Peggy Mayo-Standup, who also holds the Tobacco portfolio, remains on medical leave. No date has been set for her return.

“This appointment allows for the work on this important issue to continue,” said Grand Chief Michael Ahríhron Delisle, Jr. “I applaud Kahsennenhawe for stepping up to take on this challenging file.”
