Kahnaw�:ke-bound Mercier Bridge lane closures

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke has just been informed by the Jacques Cartier & Champlain Bridges Incorporated that the Kahnaw�:ke-bound side of the Mercier bridge will be closed to traffic tonight (Thursday) from 10pm until 5am Friday morning (November 4th). Counter flow traffic will be routed onto the Montreal-bound Bridge with one lane in each direction for the duration of the closure. 
 
The Kahnaw�:ke-bound bridge will also be closed this weekend from 10pm Friday, November 4th until 5am Monday, November 7th. Counter flow traffic will be routed onto the Montreal-bound side of the bridge for the duration of this closure as well.
 
After the closures, the following traffic configuration will continue:

�    One lane in each direction
          o    Weekends and holidays
          o    Monday to Wednesday from 9pm until 4am
          o    Thursday and Friday from 11pm until 4am

�    Two Montreal bound lanes and one Kahnaw�:ke bound lane
          o    Monday to Friday from 5am until 11:30am

�    Two Kahnaw�:ke bound lanes and one Montreal bound lane
          o    Monday to Wednesday from 12:30pm until 8pm
          o    Thursday and Friday from 12:30pm until 10 pm

In the upcoming weeks road users can expect to see many more closures of this nature to allow for the acceleration of the ongoing work on the Mercier Bridge.
