The Kahnawą:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission wishes to remind the community that the First Community Consultation for the proposed Legislation to prohibit sale, manufacture and distribution of tobacco in Kahnawą:ke is scheduled for 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, 22 Onerahtohkó:wa-May at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Participants, especially those new to the Community Decision Making Process, are asked to arrive at approximately 5:45pm to ensure the schedule is maintained.

The specific question that will be asked of the community will be: Do we have a mandate to develop legislation that would prohibit the sale and manufacture of any tobacco and all cigarettes except for ceremonial and-or medicinal use?
The MCK would like to be clear that the submission of this Request for Legislation follows the Community Decision Making Process guidelines and, as such, does not necessarily reflect the position of the MCK regarding tobacco.
