Water Line Installation on Route 132

06/05/2012

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that as part of Phase 2 of the East End Water Looping Project, a new water line installation will cross Route 132 at the traffic lights at Mohawk Trail in the lower Clay Mountains area. Work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 7th and be completed by mid-July.

Crews will carry out excavation of two pits on both sides of Route 132. Contractor Forage Nella Inc. will install the water line by utilizing a horizontal boring method. Crews will tie-in the new water line to the existing water network. Areas affected by the works will be restored and landscaped upon completion of the installation.

Proper signalization will be installed to warn motorists of the construction limits.

Residents in the area may be inconvenienced with temporary loss of water, dust, noise, detours and temporary road closures. Residents will be notified at least one day prior to water shut down and-or road closure.

Your patience throughout this project is greatly appreciated. Please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016 if further information is required.
