Mercier Bridge Complete closure of Montreal-bound lanes from June 22nd to 26th

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke wishes to inform road users that the Minist�re des Transports du Quebec (MTQ) will perform major repairs to the slab of the Montreal-bound span of the   Mercier Bridge from Friday, June 22nd at 10pm until Tuesday, June 26th at 5am. 

A complete closure of both Montreal-bound lanes is necessary during this period with only two lanes available in the Kahnaw�:ke-bound direction. The MTQ could not allow for contraflow traffic because of the width of the Kahnaw�:ke-bound structure. Alternatively, a phase change with two lanes towards Montreal cannot work because the configuration of its approaches won�t permit it.

Because there will be NO traffic towards Montreal during these works, road users will have to take an alternate route to get onto the island.

Please note, these works may be canceled or postponed due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Other major interventions on the Mercier Bridge are planned each week-end until mid-July. However, during these works one lane will be open in each direction. Details will be confirmed one week in advance.
