Secondary Emergency Intake Pipe

08/06/2012

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non that work is currently in progress in the Johnson’s Bay area. The New Water Treatment Plant requires the installation of a 16” diameter intake pipe to insure proper water supply to the Community in the event of a problem with our existing intake structure.

To ensure the proper installation of the new pipe, it is required to the place a base made of large rocks under the intake structure. Since the large rocks may not be visible and may be just below the water level, we are asking boaters and recreational water users in the Johnson’s Bay Area to be cautious. Signalization will be installed to warn of the dangers.

Your patience throughout this project is greatly appreciated and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience. If further information is required, please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016.
