Culvert replacement on Route 207, re-scheduled

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform all Kahnawa’kehró:non and surrounding communities that the culvert replacement work originally scheduled to begin today (Wednesday) has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 11th.
Details of the work and schedules will be announced shortly. Route 207 will be closed to ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC between Highway 138 and Highway 30 for the entire duration of the project.
Local traffic will have access to temporary detoured roadways, but will be limited to residents and those who have business in the Territory. Necessary signalization will be placed to safely redirect traffic.
Peacekeeper, fire and ambulance emergency services will be made available on both sides of the work area when the road is closed. In addition, fire protection assistance from St-Isidore has been made available for areas south of the closure.
The work should be completed in five (5) weeks, weather-permitting.
