Third community consultation for Kahnawake Justice Act scheduled for Tuesday October 9th

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to remind Kahnawakehró:non that the third community consultation for the proposed Kahnawà:ke Justice Act will be held on Tuesday, 9 Kenténha/October. The meeting will use the Community Decision Making Process and will be held at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium from 6 to 8:30pm. Participants are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early in order for the meeting to begin on time.
In order to help facilitate discussion, participants are asked to view the draft Kahnawà:ke Justice Act in advance. It is available at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke main building, and the Justice Building (the former Lafleur’s store in the old village area).
Additionally, please note that the community consultation scheduled for Saturday, 13 Kenténha/October has been postponed. A new date and updated schedule will be announced shortly.
Community members are reminded that the Community Decision Making Process was developed to give community members direct input on how laws are created in Kahnawà:ke.
