Next Kahnawake Justice Act meeting to review section on ‘Composition of the Court of Kahnawà:ke’

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission would like to remind Kahnawa’kehró:non that the fourth community consultation for the proposed Kahnawà:ke Justice Act will be held on Tuesday, 30 Kenténha/October, 2012.
The meeting will focus on Section 8 of the draft Act, which deals with the ‘Composition of the Court of Kahnawà:ke.’ In order to help facilitate discussion, participants are asked to view the draft Kahnawà:ke Justice Act in advance. It is available at the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke main building, the Justice Building (the former Lafleur’s store in the old village area) or on-line at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
The meeting will use the Community Decision Making Process and will be held at the Karonhianónhnha School gymnasium from 6pm to 8:30pm. Participants are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early in order for the meeting to begin on time.
A fifth community consultation is scheduled for Thursday, 8 Kentenhkó:wa/November, 2012. Please note that members of the Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission will be on hand to answer questions about the Community Decision Making Process at the Services Complex on Friday, 26 Kenténha/October from 8:30am to 4pm.
