Hurricane Sandy expected to affect Kahnawake weather

The Emergency Preparedness Program of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that the tail end of Hurricane Sandy will affect the local weather. Heavy rainfall and high winds can be expected later today (Monday, October 29th) and early Tuesday, October 30th.
Environment Canada is reporting that 20 to 40 milimetres of rain is expected with the strongest winds, possibly severe, occurring in the St. Lawrence Valley between Montreal and Quebec City.
Please be sure to monitor weather reports regularly and take appropriate precautions. As always, it is highly recommended that families have a 72-hour home emergency plan.
