Notice - Brush Cutting course underway in Tioweroton

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that a brush cutting course is underway in the Tiowero:tón Territory. It is being sponsored by Tewatohnhi’saktha and operated by Rexforet. Eight Kahnawa’kehró:non are participating, along with an Algonquin Native from Kitigan Zibi.  

“The safety aspect of brush cutting is taking place in the bush, where the participants can get a real feel for what they’re supposed to be doing,” said Chief Martin Leborgne. “We’d like to assure community members that absolutely no brush or trees are being cut or damaged.”

Tewatohnhi’saktha is expected to make a formal announcement on the course in the coming days.
