Fifth community consultation for Kahnawake Justice Act

The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission wishes to invite Kahnawa’kehró:non to the fifth community consultation for the proposed Kahnawà:ke Justice Act, which will be held on Thursday evening (8, Kentenhkó:wa/November) from 6pm to 8:30pm at the Karonhianónhnha School.
Thursday’s meeting will focus on Section V – Court of Kahnawà:ke Decisions. If time permits, discussion will continue with Section VI – Appeals from the Court of Kahnawà:ke in Criminal Matters and, possibly, Section VII – Appeals from the Court of Kahnawà:ke in Penal Matters.
In order to help facilitate discussion, participants are asked to view the draft Kahnawà:ke Justice Act in advance. It is available at the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke main building, the Justice Building (the former Lafleur’s store in the old village area) or on-line at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com.
Participants are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early in order for the meeting to begin on time.
