Chiefs attending strategy meetings in Ottawa

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that several chiefs are travelling to Ottawa on Thursday, January 10th to attend meetings.
Grand Chief Michael Ahríhron Delisle Jr., along with Chiefs Lloyd Phillips and Clinton Phillips will take part in strategy sessions tomorrow in preparation for the Friday, January 11th meeting between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and a delegation from the Assembly of First Nations. The composition of the delegation has not been finalized at this time.
"We want to make sure that Kahnawà:ke’s position is clear. The relationship with Canada must change and must respect our historical relationship with the Crown, which includes our jurisdiction and sovereignty," said Chief Lloyd Phillips.
