MCK to return to monthly Community Meetings on trial basis

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that the current Seasonal Community Meetings will return to a monthly format on a trial basis. The change was made in response to requests made by community members.
Chief & Council have set the schedule for the Seasonal Meetings, which are as follows:
- 19 Enníska-February Winter Community Meeting
- 14 Onerahtohkó:wa-May Spring Community Meeting
- 13 Seskéha-August Summer Community Meeting
- 12 Kentenhkó:wa-November Fall Community Meeting
- 11 Enníska-February (2014) Winter Community Meeting
Additionally, the following dates have been added:
- 12 Enniskó:wa-March
- 9 Onerahtókha-April
- 11 Ohiarí:ha-June
All meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays, and all will be held at the Golden Age Club with a 7pm start time. Following the six-month trial period, Chief & Council will determine whether the meetings will be held monthly or quarterly.
Additionally, the Chiefs have agreed to re-institute the popular ‘Chiefs Kiosk,’ where Council Chiefs are available to speak informally with community members at the Services Complex. The schedule for these events will be announced in the near future.
