Community Decision Making Process video dramatization to be launched
02/21/2013
The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to announce that it is launching a video created to give Kahnawa’kehró:non a sample of how the Community Decision Making Process (CDMP) works.
The video uses the proposal of an imaginary law to illustrate the basic premise of the CDMP and how people participate in creating or amending Kahnawà:ke laws.
“It’s not a clinical look at the process but, rather, a realistic dramatization of the process in action,” said KLCC Coordinator Kahente Horn-Miller. “While every session is different, we tried to create a sample of what we could consider a more-or-less ‘typical’ meeting. The idea is to give community members a level of comfort, especially those who have wanted to participate but are a bit unsure of what is expected.”
The video will debut as part of the KTV episode that will begin airing on Mohawk TV on Paul’s Cable beginning on Friday, 22 Enníska/February. For non-subscribers, the video will be available at www.kahnawakemakingdecisions.com or via direct link at www.kahnawake.com.
For more information on the process or the video, please contact the KLCC directly at 450-632-7500.
