Chief Lloyd Phillips attending AFNQL meetings on Education

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Chief Lloyd Phillips will be in Odenak on Wednesday, March 13th to attend an Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador special meeting on Education.

The meeting is being organized to discuss Aboriginal and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) Funding Formulas for Education and the proposed Federal Education Act.

“We are looking for common political ground with other first Nations to address funding issues,” said Chief Lloyd Phillips. ”The primary discussion is going to be assessing and developing strategy to deal with the proposed Federal Education Act.”
