2nd Animal Vaccination Clinic date announced

05/02/2013

The Animal Protection Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce a 2nd Animal Vaccination Clinic to be held on Sunday, May 26th from 9am to 3pm at the Community Protection Unit building.

Due to overwhelming response, the previously announced May 5th clinic has been completely booked solid for the entire day and the Animal Protection Department warns that they may not be able to accommodate ‘walk-ins’ as they’ve done at past clinics.

“We at Animal Protection take it as a positive sign to have all available spots booked,” said Deidra Whyte, Assistant Animal Protection Officer. “It shows people being responsible for their pets by having them vaccinated and that’s why we added a second date to accommodate as many as we can.”

A registered veterinarian will be on-site providing check-up, vaccination and preventative services for cats and dogs. All fees are the responsibility of the pet owner, but it is important to note that they will be provided at a lower cost than at a veterinarian office.

There have been confirmed cases of Lyme disease and heartworm in Kahnawà:ke animals. Please help prevent the contraction of these diseases and protect your pets by vaccinating.

For further information or questions, please contact Deidra Whyte by telephone at (450) 632-0635.
