Small rink erected for lacrosse overflow

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce that a small secondary rink has been erected near the large outdoor rink near the K103 Building. It is actually a pre-existing rink that had been in storage.
This was done because lacrosse players (especially young kids) have had to vacate the facility when games or practices are scheduled.
“Lacrosse is extremely popular among our young people,” said Sports Portfolio Chief Carl Horn. “Now there’s a rink a few feet away that they can use when the main rink is in use. Anytime we can provide more sports facilities for our youth it’s a very positive thing. Best of all, it didn’t take any extra funding to accomplish.”
The rink will be removed once the lacrosse season is completed
