MCK updates on Independent Investigation into dismissal of former Director of Education
06/03/2013
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community about the progress of the Independent Investigation into the dismissal of the former Director of Education.
The Investigation has been proceeding as mandated, though some unexpected delays have impacted the timeline for completion. The report from the Investigation was originally scheduled to be completed within thirty (30) days, with the timelines now being adjusted to accommodate the delays. The investigating firm, Cooperative Solutions, has informed the MCK that they are working diligently to complete the report as soon as possible.
“We want to assure the community that the delays have been beyond the control of the investigators and that we are aware of the issues that have caused the delays,” said Education Portfolio Chief Rhonda Kirby. “However, the investigators are very well informed of the need for timely completion of the report. Once it is ready and we receive the document we will immediately inform the community.”
“We appreciate the community’s patience in this matter,” she concluded.
