Chiefs attending AFNQL Chiefs Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Chiefs Lloyd Phillips and Clinton Phillips will be attending the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador (AFNQL) Chiefs� Assembly being held in Montreal from today until Thursday.

Agenda items include Political Relations with the Quebec Government; Political Relations with the Federal Government; Public Security; and Updates on Comprehensive Claims, Fuel Tax; and the First Nations Youth Network. There will also be a discussion on the Enbridge oil pipeline proposal and mining issues.

Lloyd Phillips is the MCK�s representative to the AFNQL and holds its Public Security portfolio. Clinton Phillips is attending to gain a better understanding of the workings of the AFNQL and to attend the Enbridge discussion.
