06/13/2013

The Community Protection Unit will meet with CP in the coming weeks to disseminate the report and its recommendations which will be followed by consultation with community members, particularly those who live in the affected areas, before Chief and Council make any decisions. A meeting with community members is tentatively being scheduled for mid-August.
CP and the MCK commissioned the safety assessment of public crossings in early November, 2012. The evaluation was undertaken in accordance with the Railway Safety Act and Transport Canada’s Procedure and Conditions for Eliminating Whistling at Public Crossings by independent engineering firm Hatch Mott MacDonald.
The community will continue to be updated on an ongoing basis.
