Mercier Bridge Work Month Long ‘Blitz’

Forwarded on behalf of the Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers
The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers are asking local residents and motorists who use the Mercier Bridge to be patient and plan ahead.
The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will carry out a month-long work ‘Blitz’ from July 13 until August 11, 2013.
During this period motorists can expect delays when trying to access the Montreal bound Mercier Bridge, due to major work, closures and detours.
“We’re asking everybody to have extra patience when trying to navigate the roads and highways to the bridge, and to expect long delays during the rush hour periods,” said Chief Peacekeeper Dwayne Zacharie.
“The Peacekeepers will be monitoring all major routes to the bridge, and will be issuing infractions to those who fail to obey posted signs,” added Chief Zacharie.
Local residents are advised to use alternate routes when possible, in order to avoid being stuck in traffic.
