Train Safety - Parents talk to your children
07/26/2013
The Community Protection Unit would like to inform the community that despite repeated warnings about the dangers associated with trains, some youth continue to congregate near and actually on the train tracks.
This is an urgent request for parents to talk to their children about ceasing this very dangerous practice which is totally preventable but can result in serious injury and death.
Community members are also encouraged to report any sightings of people on the tracks to the Peacekeepers.
The speed and quietness of the trains is very deceptive and may leave the person very little time to react. Youths are also seen walking with headphones which could possibly compromise their ability to hear the warning systems.
It is hoped that by taking proper precautions and avoiding being on the tracks, all injuries will be prevented.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Community Protection Unit at (450) 632-0635.
The Peacekeepers can always be contacted at (450) 632-6505.
