Mercier Bridge - trucks prohibited during morning rush hour towards Montreal from August 5 to 9

The Mohawk Council of Kahnaw�:ke is advising road users that The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated will be prohibiting trucks on the Mercier Bridge towards Montreal during the morning rush hour (5am to 9am) from Monday, August 5th to Friday, August 9th.
 
This measure aims to ease traffic for drivers during the morning rush hour in the final week of the major work BLITZ on the Mercier Bridge, which coincides with the end of the construction holiday.

Truck drivers are invited to use the new A-30 westbound, as well as the other South Shore bridges to access the island of Montreal during this period. The ban only applies during morning rush hour, as the closure of the A-20 East ramp for the A-15 South on the Turcot Interchange reduces alternative options for truckers during afternoon rush hour.

Only one lane, 3 meters wide, will be open in each direction on the Mercier Bridge until Monday, August 12 at 5am. Trucks exceeding this width are already banned on the bridge. During this work, road users are encouraged to avoid the Mercier Bridge and use public transit.

The other South Shore bridges are also strongly recommended, as with the end of the construction holiday, traffic will be heavier.
