Be Cautious of Telephone Scam

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers are advising the community to be cautious of a suspicious marketing ploy used to solicit credit card information from community members over the telephone.

The individuals claim to be from Microsoft with the number 990-900-0100 and attempt to persuade people to believe there are problems with their home computers. After a free scan, which intentionally shows errors, a solution is offered for a small fee, therefore requiring a credit card number.

Community members are being asked to be cautious when contacted by these individuals and to inform friends and relatives to be aware in case they are contacted.

The Peacekeepers have an open file on this case and request they be contacted at 450-632-6506 if anyone receives this telemarketing phone call.
