Peacekeepers Investigating Thefts
08/20/2013
The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers are investigating a rash of thefts from vehicles that occurred over the week-end. A total of 12 reports have been filed for incidents involving items taken from unlocked vehicles.
“These incidents occurred this past week-end, and targeted unlocked vehicles, in a particular area of the village,” said Assistant Chief Peacekeeper Jody Diabo. “It’s a crime of opportunity; an unlocked vehicle is an open invitation to a thief, “added Diabo.
The Peacekeepers are reminding residents to lock their vehicles at all times, and not to leave any valuable items inside and in plain sight.
If you have any information concerning these incidents, please contact the Kahnawake Peacekeepers at 450-632-6505, or if you prefer to remain anonymous call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 450-632-2802.
